Tall Fescue is a species which has been getting quite a lot of attention over the past few years. Its deep root structure allows the plant to withstand greater moisture stress, poorer soils and also excess water logging. 

Like Ryegrass, you can break tall fescues into two categories. Some have been bred for turf and others for agricultural use. Despite a lot of work being put into the breeding of Tall Fescue, it still wont tolerate close mowing regimes like ryegrass can. 

In good conditions germination should be expected within 10-21 days.
